Leg I See

Benjamin Charming  ·  9th July, 2025

It's gon' be alright.

Without darkness, there is no need of light.

Stand strong and fight,

Don't give up,

It's gon' be alright.

I typed a poem,

It left.

I had studied for an exam,

the answers left.

Great friends I had,

they left.

The girl I loved, also left.

· · ·

Nothing lasts forever,

All things come to an end.

The problem is, we focus on what left,

than what's left.

Open your eyes when they leave,

Don't stay in anger or grieve.

II

So many broken dreams,

So many scars I hide.

Sometimes I want to scream,

sometimes I wanna cry.

Pressure pushing me from all sides —

tell me!

Where do you go when you've lost all hope

and you're wandering off to the dark side?

· · ·

Shall I roll another one? Or down a whole bottle?

Shall I party my life away? Or sleep like there is no tomorrow?

Life is short, I'm living on time that's borrowed.

I truly am a Man, of constant sorrow.

So I'm fleeing from reality.

Down the road to safety,

while wearing a mask of pretense, disguising my hypocrisy.

I only ask favours from God, if He calls me,

I might end up in the fish.

Reply "Ni-Neva", because the Jonah in me is —

Huh?

Tabesh-is?

TABESHA!!!

Nga fya Kosa or fya pena,

Bale butukila ku Nineva.

We are so caught up in a fantasy.

The so-show media life,

where they only show you what they want you to see.

Happy moments, easy money.

So it hits hard, when faced with reality.

· · ·

I want to be stinking rich,

I have places to be,

I have countries to reach,

goals to achieve,

world wonders to see —

I have…

· · ·

All talk, no action.

Every problem don't need a reaction.

Continue running or start solving.

Bring out the best of me or be a distraction.

IV

So lock in,

aspire to build a reputable legacy.

Throughout the grind, something was lacking.

The everyday blessings found,

when God's leg I see.

· · ·

God's Leg I See,

For it is written that the earth is God's foot rest.

He promised us the best,

from above,

If we do what He asks — and put Him first.

Yet, we desire what's under His feet.

Fixed on what we perceive valuable beneath.

· · ·

On earth, nothing lasts forever.

Open your eyes when they leave,

Don't stay in anger or grieve.

Get on your knees,

Till His leg I see.

· · ·

It's gon' be alright.

Yours Charmingly.
